Yomi Ship are an instrumental rock trio from Perth, WA with imaginative compositions that skirt around the boundaries of prog, psych, jazz, art and math rock. With four EP’s and a national tour under their belt, Yomi Ship have performed consistently over the past 7 years, becoming the go-to act for national and international supports in these genres. Being hard to pigeonhole, the band’s versatility ensures they bring an alternative flavour to local festival line-ups as well. Taking their name from a trading card in the popular Yu-Gi-Oh Japanese manga series, Yomi Ship draws on gaming culture and fantasy/folklore as influences for their artwork and song titles. Their unique sound has evolved via a mix of influences from King Crimson and Yes to The Mars Volta and black midi. Yomi Ship’s live performances continue to amaze and impress new audiences with their song writing talent and musicianship, beguiling crowds with unorthodox time signatures and intricate melodies, interspersed with ambient noise sections that shock and surprise.
